Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Velkyr website and your participation in Velkyr's programmes. Please read them before registering for any programme or ordering any product.

By accessing our website or registering for a programme, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into this Agreement. If you are registering on behalf of another person, you warrant that you have their authority to do so and that they are also 18 or over.

3. Programme Descriptions

Velkyr offers three adult education programmes: a six-week evening writing workshop, a printed notebook with video orientation, and a twelve-month subscription to monthly reading and writing evenings. Full descriptions are available at velkyr.blog/solutions.html.

Programmes are held at 14 Wallich Street, Singapore 078881, unless otherwise stated. Velkyr reserves the right to change the venue on reasonable notice.

4. Registration and Accounts

Registration requires your name, email address, and payment. You are responsible for providing accurate information. We do not maintain user accounts with login credentials — registration is confirmed by email only.

Places are held on receipt of payment. If a programme is full, we will inform you promptly and offer a place on the next cohort.

6. Intellectual Property

All programme materials — writing prompts, reading selections compiled by Velkyr, video orientations, and notebook content — are the intellectual property of Velkyr or are used with permission from publishers. You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use these materials for your own private, non-commercial purposes.

You may not reproduce, distribute, or use Velkyr's materials for commercial purposes without prior written consent. Writing that you produce during programmes remains your own.

7. Fees and Payment

All fees are in Singapore Dollars (SGD). Current fees are:

Payment is required in full at the time of registration. We accept major credit and debit cards through our payment provider. Payment details are not retained by Velkyr.

7.1 Cancellation and refunds

Cancellations made 14 or more days before the first session of a programme will receive a full refund less an administrative fee of SGD 30. Cancellations within 14 days of the first session are not eligible for a cash refund but may be transferred to a future cohort, subject to availability. The notebook is non-refundable once dispatched. Monthly subscriptions are non-refundable after the first evening of the subscription year.

8. Notebook Orders

The Money Story Notebook is printed and posted to Singapore addresses. Delivery typically takes 3–5 working days. If your notebook arrives damaged, contact us within 7 days and we will arrange a replacement at no charge. We do not currently ship outside Singapore.

9. Disclaimers

Velkyr's programmes are adult education and personal writing practices. Nothing provided in any programme constitutes financial advice, investment guidance, psychological therapy, or counselling of any kind. Velkyr is not a licensed financial adviser and does not hold any financial services licence in Singapore.

Programmes are provided on an "as is" basis. Velkyr does not warrant that participation will produce any particular personal, financial, or psychological outcome.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Singapore law, Velkyr's liability for any claim arising from these Terms or participation in a programme is limited to the fee paid for the specific programme in question. Velkyr is not liable for indirect, consequential, or special losses.

Velkyr is not liable for events beyond its reasonable control, including force majeure events that prevent the delivery of a programme.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Velkyr and its staff from any claim, loss, or expense (including legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms or your conduct during a programme.

12. Termination

Velkyr may terminate your registration or subscription, without refund, where your conduct in sessions is disrespectful, disruptive, or in breach of these Terms. You may withdraw from a programme at any time, subject to the cancellation policy in section 7.1.

Sections 6, 9, 10, 11, and 13 survive termination of this Agreement.

13. Dispute Resolution and Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Any dispute arising from them will first be addressed through direct negotiation between the parties. If not resolved within 30 days, the parties agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Singapore courts.

Singapore's Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act applies where applicable.

14. General Provisions

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Velkyr. If any provision is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force. No waiver of any provision shall constitute a continuing waiver. Velkyr may assign its obligations under these Terms; you may not.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email to registered participants before they take effect. Continued participation in programmes after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. The date at the top of this document shows the most recent revision.
